Cornish Beach House Interior Design

I was delighted to be able to make some stunning lampshades and cushions for this Cornish Beach House Interior Design refurbishment. Wayne Hemingway meets Karen Davey

Wayne Hemingway meets Karen Davey

Who hasn’t heard of Red or Dead? It was set up by the fantastic entrepreneur Wayne Hemingway and his wife Geraldine in the early 1980s.  I was very lucky to respond to an email from Unlocking Potential Cornwall within the first twenty minutes to get one of the places at a seminar in Wadebridge today. Wayne began by asking the audience if anyone wanted to accompany him on a trip to Dismaland this afternoon! (I’ve already been, that’s another blog post). He kept the whole room enthralled for what seemed a lifetime – talking all about how he and Geraldine set up the business by moving to London with £50 each when they were aged just 18. He explained how passionate he is about repurposing, upcycling and environmentally friendly; all of this was before the words were even invented!   I was cheeky enough to seek out Wayne for a photo opportunity at lunchtime and am totally in awe of his work and his lifestyle philosophies. He gets up before 5am every day, and has worked his butt off to get where he is today.  Wayne talked about the importance of human contact in business and how basically design is about improving things that matter in life. He is a great believer in karma and gives generously to everyone he meets. A thoroughly great all round guy! xx...
